Blink and you might miss it. The historic Chelsea Hotel, constructed in the late 19th century in New York City, once the tallest building on the Manhattan skyline (12 stories tall), and home to a kajillion (that’s 10,000 zillion) creative individuals from Mark Twain to Allen Ginsberg to Dylan Thomas, will soon be a… drumroll… Holiday Inn. A sign of the times we guess – so here is a look back at some of the most famous faces, stories and stories from the mouth part of famous faces all within the walls of the Chelsea Hotel.
