So excited to bring you the first episode of NewbsRadio.  It’s about 10 years in the making to be honest.  No really.  10 years.  Take a listen!

“Why did it possibly take 10 years to make this tripe?” – you may be asking yourself.  Well, let’s just say that this tripe has been marinating in the juices of the back of my mind for so long that the bones are edible as if the tripe were now some sort of spicy canned tuna.  

I came up with the idea back in 2002 when I used to DJ at a bar in Edmonton where I met and befriended the music director of CJSR at the time – Smilin’ Jay Willis.  I desperately wanted my own radio show but I didn’t want to pick a genre, I wanted it to be informative and the kind of show people would enjoy and loyally tune into once a week.  My aspirations were not up to my perspirations and seeing as my plate was very full of creative endeavours I chose not to follow through and develop said program.

Flash forward 9 years and I find myself in Vancouver with a lot of time on my hands the drive to be more productive with my time, I brought the original idea to the table and my good pal David Newberry jumped on board.  Now we can’t get away with playing music on our show because of Lars Ulrich, but we can yammer on and on about music on our show, so that’s what we did.  I hope you find it a tad interesting, we certainly had a tad of whiskey while recording it.
